Case Study: The inside scoop behind a 5-figure launch

“When you actually SEE the results in the end like myself… it PROVED the value.” – Molly Grunewald, Molly Grunewald Photography

The Challenge: Launch a first-time offer boudoir course for seasoned boudoir photographers

Molly Grunewald is a boudoir and couples photographer and returning client of my friend Sarah Crook from Alisabeth Designs. It doesn’t take long to fall for Molly’s breathtaking images and “life shouldn’t be too serious” personality, so I was excited for the chance to work with her!

Sarah said “I was so excited to work with Molly again because she is an incredibly gifted creative with a heart to build community within her niche through education and relationships which I admire greatly!”

Since she’s one of the most sought after boudoir photographers in Detroit, it’s no surprise she’s often booked out with boudoir clients.

Molly was looking to launch The Boudoir Bible – an offer for other boudoir photographers that could help grow her business without taking away from her primary work with her boudoir clients.

She had already created a waitlist to see if other photographers would be interested, and they definitely were! Once she had a solid pool of leads, she came to Sarah and I to officially launch!

“I worked with Sarah back in 2018 when my business needed a level up… I knew how important a sales page would be for launch. When Sarah suggested Corrie, the copywriting queen, I knew I wanted to make the investment to make the sales page totally killer.”

The approach: Collaborate and create a launch strategy to reach seasoned boudoir photographers who want to level up

Sarah and I were ready to make this a win for Molly, and got right into understanding her audience and offer so we could speak to the transformation they would receive by taking her course.

The Boudoir Bible teaches aspiring boudoir photographers the business and client-facing skills to niche down and grow their business, and was priced at $299 with an affordable payment plan – a perfect offer for Molly’s raving fans.

Because Sarah brings over 7 years of design experience in sales pages, conversions, and website strategy, and I’ve been doing conversion copywriting and launch strategy for clients like Molly for 3 years, we were ready to put our heads together and get started on crafting a custom brand and sales page.

Sarah said “We wanted to make sure this branch of Molly’s business would uniquely target her ideal client audience and build recognition, establish trust, and solve their problems – in turn driving demand for her course.”

We talked with Molly about her first-hand experience with the boudoir community, and it was GREAT to hear how well she knew her audience’s struggles and needs.

To research further, I went mining for gold in her free, private Facebook group for photographers and boudoir clients and pulled out what I saw was resonating, looked through her incredible testimonials, and pulled data from her recorded mentor sessions for boudoir photographers.

“Corrie and Sarah are the dream team and I’m not just saying that. They not only did what they came to do… but answered all my in between questions too that they were not at all required to answer or guide me on. They truly wanted to see me succeed.”

The solution: Implement the plan and hold our breath in excitement

With our core messaging and design direction in place I got to work on writing a sales page primed for conversion that spoke directly to the boudoir photographers’ needs and desires.

Sarah took the copy and designed a gorgeous sales page that was totally Molly, simple, and easy to navigate.

From there, Molly was ready to tell her audience all about The Boudoir Bible, and kept them engaged on social media throughout the launch!

It was time to sit back and see the revenue roll in with our fingers, legs, and toes crossed!

The results: A jaw dropping (but not surprising) 5-figure launch!

“This launch definitely met my expectations, and more. And it is pushing me even further for the next launch!”

Once Molly’s audience saw that the cart was open, they JUMPED at the chance to buy The Boudoir Bible and learn from her!

This resulted in an over 25% conversion rate in the first round of open cart, and a 20% conversion rate in the second round!

Sarah said “I am super proud of her conversion rate for the sales page! It was well over 25%, HUGE given the short duration of the sales period.”

In total, Molly generated 5-figures in revenue in just a few DAYS without taking away from her primary work with her boudoir clients.

We were all excited to celebrate the success of her launch, and the greater success that she’s able to help even more women on their self-love journey through the shared vision behind boudoir with other photographers!

The Boudoir Bible adds another layer of income to her business while allowing her to still focus on her own boudoir clients. It’s a win-win!

“As much as I want to gatekeep them because I want them all to myself… HIRE THEM … but remember, you have to put in the work too.”

Our takeaways:

  • Knowing your audience is vital in completing a successful launch

  • Collaboration is key! Outsource where you’re not an expert, but stay involved and engaged with your audience for the best results

  • A niched, well priced offer with a waitlist can elevate your business like crazy

  • A limited time offer gets people in the door and excited to buy!
